Open Monument Day

To mark Open Monument Day, on Saturday 12 September we are presenting the 1st Meeting of the Legendaries by artist Cinthia Marcelle, part of her ongoing project The Legendaries for the exhibition Draw, Withdraw, Redraw.

The Legendaries originated in 2008 from Cinthia’s research into the people, memories and relationships that make up a public cultural institution. The project focuses on individuals who are often absent from official historical accounts, yet are of great significance to the development and continuity of institutions.

Edition

For this edition, Cinthia brings together fourteen people who have been connected to Kunstinstituut Melly in various ways over the past 36 years: from staff, artists and curators to board members, technicians and visitors. Together, they form a collective portrait of the many relationships and shared histories that have shaped our institution.
