Dutch Design Week in Van Abbemuseum

19 October 2024 until 27 October 2024

Exhibition

This activity has ended.

During Dutch Design Week 2024 the Van Abbemuseum presents various exhibitions, events, workshops, talks and performances.

Continuous programme

The exhibition Soils - in which international artists, designers, farmers and activists show you how they connect with the soil they live on - will be complemented by special works by students from Design Academy Eindhoven.

In addition, Jeroen Erosie's living mural Alternative Entrance can be admired. And with a bit of luck, you will even see him working on the mural during the week!

Throughout the museum you will find a total of four stations by artist collective De Onkruidenier. They invite you to think about how design affects the growth, distribution and perception of a food like tomatoes: from genetic modification to greenhouse construction and packaging.

Varying programme

There are also several lectures, performances and workshops at the museum every day; including by designers from the Soils exhibition, such as graphic designer David Bennewith (Colophon), textile designer and researcher Aliki van der Kruijs, Soph Boobyer and Karst Meijer of Herbarium Frisicum. See the exhibitions and activities below for more information.
