Public transport

The Public Transport & Toy Museum is located in the Gildehofje in the old city center of Doesburg. Both adults and children will enjoy learning about the museum’s historical items. Discover the history of public transport in the Netherlands and especially the Gelderse Tramwegen company in the Achterhoek cultural region. Old equipment, photographs and beautiful scale models of old trains and busses show what public transport was like in days gone by.

Toys

The museum has a large collection of antique toys. The presentation of the toys is surprising. Come see the history of various types of toys in shop windows in a small village. The younger visitors may operate the model train. And there’s a play corner for the very youngest visitors.

We recommend parking the car on the edge of the Doesburg town center, where there is ample parking. It only takes 15 minutes to walk through the center of town to the museum.
