Meet the heroes of the sea
Until 31 March 2027 from 10:00 to 17:00
Other
The National Rescue Museum in Den Helder is a museum for adventurers and thrill-seekers. This interactive museum tells the inspiring story of the courageous rescuers at sea.
Interactive museum
There is plenty to experience in the museum. Feel what it is like to brave a force 10 gale in the wind tunnel and send your own Morse code in the renovated radio cabin. Or step aboard the navigation game and sail your ship through treacherous seas. Would you rather experience a lifelike rescue operation at sea? Then take a seat in the NH1816 and let yourself be carried away in this splashing VR experience.
The Rescue Museum is known for its child-friendly setup. Children are allowed to touch almost everything, ensuring that even the youngest visitors have a great time. The combination with beautiful ship models and historical instruments makes the museum a wonderful experience for adults as well. Step aboard and meet the heroes of the sea.
