Can Love Be A Photograph – 40 years of Inez & Vinoodh

In 2026, the internationally renowned photographers Inez van Lamsweerde (NL, 1963) and Vinoodh Matadin (NL, 1961) will have been working together for forty years.

Retrospective

This special anniversary has prompted the Kunstmuseum Den Haag to invite the Dutch-born duo to stage a major retrospective, in which they look back on forty years of artistic partnership.

Seduction

In the retrospective exhibition CAN LOVE BE A PHOTOGRAPH – 40 years of Inez & Vinoodh, it becomes clear that the photographic duo are constantly exploring new styles and techniques. In the early 1990s, they were among the first photographers to investigate the possibilities of digital imaging technology as a medium. They developed a distinctive style of visual seduction combined with provocative narratives.
