With millions of drawings, maps, photographs, films, books and other items, the Utrecht Archives constitute the memory of the eponymous city and province. Discover the stories behind the collections at the exposition ‘Utrecht Starts Here’.

Step into the archives, where historical persons come alive in the spectacular gallery ‘The Living Archive’. Discover how the city and province continues to develop in its diversity in the gallery ‘Utrecht groeit door’ (Utrecht keeps growing). Explore the history of Utrecht in the ‘Utrecht from the Dom Tower’ hall.

The basement houses a temporary exhibition as well as “Utrecht is here”, a space where the people of Utrecht share their stories. Visit the depot where the archives are kept at Alexander Numankade 199-201.
