In the exhibition I'll Be Your Mirror - Self-portraits from the collection, the museum shows work by female makers from its own collection who work with the photographic self-portrait in various ways.

Powerful statement

Intuitively, the exhibition shows how these creators use the self-portrait to explore laden themes such as abortion rights, colonial history and body positivity or make a powerful statement about them.

Supplement

The reason for this exhibition is a number of recent purchases of self-portraits from female makers, as a supplement to the existing collection in which the self-portrait plays an important role. Works by Karla Hiraldo Voleau, Mari Katayama, Thania Petersen, Laura Hospes and Hélène Amouzou, among others, can be seen.
