Everyday Life

Featuring a wealth of early, unknown and new (film) works, this exhibition confronts the visitor with the lives of a number of seemingly ordinary citizens in their search for love, happiness and affection within a late-capitalist society in which a sense of purpose has been replaced by consumerism.

The human condition

The exhibition centres on Seidl’s ongoing exploration of the human condition. Seidl’s work is characterised as unsettling because it confronts the viewer with their own preconceptions about how people live, what they think, how they furnish their homes, how they entertain themselves and how they try to find a sense of security in their own way.
