The Galatea Art Prize

This year, the Dordrecht Museum is organising the Galatea Art Prize for the first time, together with the Galatea Foundation. At the end of 2022, artists with a recent migration past were invited to apply for the Galatea Art Prize 2023 via an Open Call. From all applications, a jury selected eight talented candidates with a chance to win the prize and whose work will be shown in a joint exhibition.

On view

From 25 March to 3 September, you can see the work of Berkay Tuncay, Marfa Vasilieva, Mohammad Abou Chair, Natalia Olhova, Natalia Grezina, Noor Issa, Tasha Arlova and Vita Buivid in room 13 of the Dordrechts Museum. On 11 June, the jury will announce a winner. The winner will receive a medal and a sum of € 2,500 to support his or her further creative development in the Netherlands.

Audience Award

As a visitor, you can vote for your favourite in the exhibition. The one with the most votes wins the audience award and receives an honourable mention in the hall.

The Galatea Art Prize is organised in cooperation with the Galatea Foundation.
