Museum.nl is a great place to start discovering what the museums of the Netherlands have to offer. The Netherlands is a relatively small country with hundreds of museums, an excellent public transport network, good roads, and more than 35,000 km of cycle paths. Every museum is therefore easily accessible, how you get there is up to you! You needn’t travel far, as there is always a museum nearby. You may have already heard of some of our museums, and many, many more remain to be discovered. From Old Masters to modern art, from medieval castles to modern science, at least one museum is bound to be exactly what you’re looking for. Combine your museum visit with sightseeing or shopping in a city or town center, or with a stroll in a park. The Netherlands is small but varied.

The new Museum.nl website in English provides information on the Netherlands Museum Pass and on more than 100 popular Dutch museums. Click See and Do for the museum descriptions and use the search filters. The Dutch-language version includes more than 400 museums, so if you can’t find what you’re looking for in English, take a walk on the Dutch site.

If you’re looking for a great way to spend the day with the whole family, check out the kid-approved museums, which have received positive feedback from young reviewers. If the weather is keeping you inside, a museum could be the right place for you! The opportunities for discovery for young and old alike are endless. All 12 provinces of the Netherlands have at least one kid-approved museum, so there will definitely be one near you, wherever you are.

To make it even easier for you, we’ve created the Netherlands Museum Pass and the Kids Museum Pass, to open the door to most of the museums in the Netherlands. Buy your passes online to receive them at an address in the Netherlands within five working days, or pick up a 30-day temporary card at one of these museums, valid immediately for five museum visits.
