Steve McQueen – ATLAS

The Pont Museum presents ATLAS, the first solo exhibition in the Netherlands by the British artist and filmmaker Steve McQueen. The exhibition features the world premiere of his new work, ATLAS (2026), alongside three recent works.

The exhibition centres on the work ATLAS (2026), created especially for the exhibition, and De Pont Museum’s recent acquisition, Sunshine State (2022). Together, they form a powerful ensemble in which McQueen explores the boundaries of space, memory and imagination.

With ATLAS, De Pont Museum presents an artist at the height of his powers: sharp in his observations and deeply human in his resonance. The four works unfold as a journey from the personal to the cosmic, from the intimate to the collective, from physical presence to the immensity of the universe.
