For 20 years now, the Zuiderzee Museum has been inviting artists, (fashion) designers and photographers to draw inspiration from the rich culture surrounding the former Zuiderzee. This has resulted in works that provoke, surprise and move the viewer. In this exhibition, you will see a selection from the sub-collection, alongside the historical sources of inspiration. Think of clothing inspired by historical traditional dress or photographs based on paintings from the past.

Inspiration

The artists bring traditions, crafts and stories from the past into the present and give them new meaning. In this way, the collection demonstrates that history remains a source of inspiration today.
