The Van Eesteren Museum surprises visitors with its cultural heritage collection. Discover the post-war reconstruction architecture and art of Amsterdam. In the indoor and outdoor museum and the museum residence, the museum exhibits the cultural heritage of urban planner Cornelis van Eesteren.

New urban districts

He designed and built large urban districts for Amsterdam based on the new principles of light, air and open space. Van Eesteren’s work is one of the highlights of post-war urban architecture in Amsterdam. The spatial urban planning of Nieuw-West and Buitenveldert districts and part of Amsterdam-Noord as designed by Van Eesteren can be experienced even today.
