Museum ‘t Fiskershúske is situated in the protected village of Moddergat on the Wadden Sea. This unique museum keeps the memory of the lost art of coastal fishing and the culture of fishing communities alive.

Houses

Museum ’t Fiskershúske consists of four houses. The oldest house dates to 1794, and is furnished as a fisherman’s home along the Wadden Sea coast around 1850. Klaske’s Húske exudes the atmosphere of the early 20th century. Huisje de Aek houses an exhibit on the Moddergat disaster of 1883, during which 83 fishermen lost their lives. This house also displays ship models and fishing gear. Huisje de Logger hosts temporary exhibitions.
