Discover the history of the city of Veenendaal at the museum

Discover the hidden stories of Museum Veenendaal. Learn about the origins of Veenendaal through historical objects and scale models. The museum offers activities for young and old alike.

There are exhibits on peat extraction, the flood of 1855 and the bee market. Dioramas show the Grebbe Line as a battlefield during the Flanders campaign and the Second World War. Discover the history of well-known local wool and cigar factories like Scheepjeswol and Ritmeester. Highlights are the many varieties of beehive, an ‘aak’ ship used for transporting peat, a stained-glass window from the Panter cigar factory and a painting by The Hague School artist Paul Gabriël.
