In Stadskasteel Zaltbommel, well-known residents tell the history of the Bommelerwaard, a region in Gelderland, from the Eighty Years’ War, or Dutch Revolt, to the present. Come see the permanent exhibition on illustrator Fiep Westerdorp, known for her collaboration with writer Annie M.G. Schmidt in creating iconic children’s book characters Jip and Janneke.

The museum is housed in a historic building in the city center of Zaltbommel. Meet the 16th-century heroes and find out about the Bommelerwaard at Stadskasteel Zaltbommel.

Onder den Sint Maarten

More recent history is also on exhibit at the Stadskasteel. Marvel at the collection of Art Nouveau furniture and copperware. All were produced at ‘Onder den Sint Maarten’ in Zaltbommel.
