Pablo Picasso, Ceramic Magician

Until 19 May from 10:00 to 17:00, exceptions included

Exhibition

Célébration Picasso 1973-2023 | Royal Delft Museum, the factory museum for Delft Blue, presents an exclusive exhibition about Picasso's life as a ceramist and his ceramic work.

Pablo Ruiz Picasso was one of the greatest artists of the 20th century and in the year that marks the 50th anniversary of his death and attention is being paid to this milestone throughout the Western world, Royal Delft Museum is exhibiting a unique selection from Picasso's oeuvre.

Born in 1881 in Malaga, Spain, Picasso spent his working life mostly in France. He developed from impressionist painter to ceramist. No other artist changed mediums so easily: from oil paint to wood or bronze, graphic techniques or glass and, of course, ceramics.

The ceramic works provide insight into Picasso's versatility as a ceramist and his entrepreneurial spirit as he developed several series in addition to unique specimens.
