Rijksmuseum Amsterdam

WorldPride night

Friday 24 July from 19 to 22 hours

Event

Experience a WorldPride night filled with films, talks, activities and more, all centred around queer joy. Together with a range of speakers, the programme explores why positive representation and storytelling matter, the power of solidarity, and what it means to move beyond labels.

Pride at the Rijksmuseum

Sexual and gender identity, expression and experience have always been part of human history. Over the next three years, the Rijksmuseum will shine a spotlight on these themes through a series of events around Amsterdam Pride. Together, we celebrate Pride and the many stories, perspectives and experiences it encompasses.

This evening is a collaboration between the Rijksmuseum and Humans of Film Festival.

Film screenings

In the Auditorium, we’ll explore the importance of positive representation and moving beyond labels in creating space for queer joy. In collaboration with the Humans of Film Festival, two short films will be screened: If I’m Here It Is by Mystery / Se eu tô aqui é por mistério (Clari Ribeiro, 2024) and Pakka (Iniyavan Elumalai, 2025).

Panel talks

Each screening will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Alejandra Ortiz. She will be joined by filmmaker Iniyavan Elumalai, curator Maaike Rikhof, artist Jojo and ID&E expert Claudia Nigeon to discuss representation, storytelling and the power of queer joy.
