The exhibition takes as its starting point the squatting history of the umbrella factory where POST is based, Farabegoli’s own history of squatting, and a perspective on the current housing crisis.

Claiming the City – A Squatters’ Allegory is an exhibition by artist Mirka Farabegoli (NL/IT), centring on her personal experiences of communal living and the memories of others from the squatters’ movement. Through drawings, a metre-long mural and graphic work, she weaves together testimonies, found archive material on the right to housing and contemporary stories. She does this by linking the everyday to broader social contexts, using metaphors and symbolism.
