From pixels to people

From avatar to identity

Building on the exhibition Game On, this evening takes things a step further. A game character is more than a collection of pixels. It can become an extension of yourself: a place to experiment with identity, emotions, and behaviour. Online communities emerge where people meet, collaborate, and experience a sense of connection. In a panel discussion, we explore how digital worlds carry over into real life. Where does the line lie between who you are and who you play? This talk is in English and will be moderated by Marsha Simon.

Game On

Of course, you can also visit ‘Game On’ during the evening. Discover how games are changing the way we play, socialise and express ourselves in this temporary exhibition at NEMO. And you can have a go at the games yourself: from Super Nintendo to PlayStation 5.

Practical information

Language: English. Venue: Auditorium on the second floor of NEMO. NEMO opens at 6.00 pm. The programme starts at 7.30 pm. The drinks reception takes place from 9.00 pm to 10.00 pm. You can visit the Game On exhibition whilst waiting for the programme to start and during the drinks reception.

Museum Café

Your ticket includes a drink. You can have a bite to eat at the Museum Café before the programme begins. There is a vegetarian ramen dish on the menu for €15.50.
