Leerdam, glass city on the Linge

Leerdam is the glass capital of the Netherlands. It therefore makes sense that the National Glasmuseum (National Glass Museum) is located here. Glass enthusiasts will have the time of their lives at this museum. The museum’s complete collection is permanently on display. The museum is housed in two former residential buildings. Both villas are on the river Linge and are connected by covered walkways. Crossing these walkways will take you past displays full of glass items.

Demonstrations in the glassworks

The glassworks on the Zuidwal in central Leerdam form part of the Nationaal Glasmuseum and are within walking distance of the museum. See how glassblowers produce many different types of glass.
