Textile machinery in the museum

MuseumFabriek Winterswijk is housed in a former textile factory belonging to Meijerink and Sons, now known as the Morsepoort complex. This was one of the seven textile factories that Winterswijk was home to. Among other things, the MuseumFabriek houses a museum and a storage facility containing a large part of the collection.

There is an exhibition about Winterswijk during the Second World War. It focuses on Helena Kuijpers van Rietbergen (Aunt Riek). One section is devoted to the Jewish Winterswijk artist Max van Dam. Another section houses the geological collection.

Demonstrations

Demonstrations of the old textile machines are held regularly. Through these, the museum recounts 250 years of Winterswijk’s textile history.
