Museum Weesp is located in one of the city's most special monuments
The first porcelain ever made in the Netherlands comes from Weesp

Located on the upper floor of city hall, the Museum Weesp showcases the history of the city of Weesp. The city’s history is closely connected with porcelain, Van Houten Cacao and the Magneet bicycle factory.

Dutch porcelain

Dutch porcelain from the 18th century constitutes the lion’s share of the museum’s collection. The first Dutch porcelain was produced in Weesp between 1759 and 1768.

Van Houten

The city is also known for cocoa thanks to the Van Houten cocoa company, which was also located in Weesp. The museum also includes a collection of Van Houten advertisements, such as posters, wrappers, pictures, books and packaging.
