Museum de Scheper is the historical museum of Eibergen and its surroundings. The museum includes a regional literature collection with works by Willem Sluiter and A.C.W. Staring, among others.

Historic value

The northeast of the Achterhoek cultural region is an area of geological, archaeological and historic richness. Amateur archaeologist and historian Herman Schepers collected and scrupulously documented finds from the Second World War onwards. Come see his collection at Museum de Scheper.

Literature collection

The museum, located in a stately villa and authentic farmhouse, focuses on the history of Eibergen and Berkelland, from prehistoric to modern times. A story of the landscape, humanity and a municipality in the Netherlands, rising, falling and everything in between. The museum includes a regional literature collection with works by poets Willem Sluiter and A.C.W. Staring, his son the geologist W.C.H. Staring and well-known Eibergen author Menno ter Braak.
