Experience a ride in an old steam train

Experience train travel like our forebears did. Museum Buurtspoorweg brings the past to life. Enjoy the train experience of yesteryear: travel in style on a steam train between Haaksbergen and Boekelo.

Museum Buurtspoorweg has seven steam locomotives, eight diesel locomotives, renovated train cars and a large collection of historic freight stock. The trains do not run daily. Check the museum website for the current schedule.

Haaksbergen Station

Haaksbergen station is the main location. Come visit the original train station dating from 1884, the railway workshop and motive power depot. There are two other train stations, Zoutindustrie and Boekelo which includes the museum depot.
