Thread Power

Until 30 August from 11:00 to 17:00

Exhibition

In the exhibition Draadkracht, you will discover how craft can be a powerful means of telling stories about emancipation, identity and sustainability. Draadkracht links contemporary works with historical craft and shows that craft is more than just technique and beauty.

Handicraft

At first glance, handicrafts may seem primarily impressive or beautiful to look at. But if you look more closely, you’ll discover that they can also tell a real story. For generations, people have been expressing themselves with needle and thread: who they are, what they feel and what is on their minds. From intimate, personal experiences to major social issues, handicrafts give a voice to what is sometimes difficult to put into words. Let the exhibition surprise you with the technique, beauty and meaning of beadwork, embroidery and mending. And discover how a single thread can sometimes say more than a thousand words.
