This museum tells the story of the resistance in and around Dordrecht from 1940 to 1945.

Dordrecht

During the Second World War, Dordrecht was situated at a strategic crossroads. Owing to its location near important bridges and railway lines, the city played a key role during the German invasion, the occupation and the liberation of the Netherlands.

War

In this museum, you can discover how the war affected everyday life through personal stories, photographs, uniforms, vehicles and everyday objects. An original Willys Jeep, historical weapons and detailed scale models bring this period to life.

Film

There are also films and audiovisual presentations on topics including the German invasion, the resistance, persecution and liberation. This gives you a vivid insight into a turbulent period in Dutch history.
