In and around this museum, you can discover what life was like on a farm in the Meierij region of Brabant between 1880 and 1930 – how people lived, worked and went about their daily lives.

Countryside

At this 18th-century farm, you can step back in time to experience life in the Brabant countryside. The historic farmhouse, surrounded by a farmyard, orchard and vegetable garden, shows just how self-sufficient a farming family used to be.

Vegetable garden

Around 1880, food didn’t come from the supermarket, but from the family’s own land. Vegetables, fruit and herbs grew in the kitchen garden, whilst food for the winter was stored in the cellar. From pickled vegetables to smoked meat: everything revolved around the seasonal harvest. Stroll through the farmyard and discover what daily life was like over a century ago.
