Although Nasser also incorporates sound and sculpture into her work, her approach is that of a painter: abstraction, fabric, pigments and stretcher bars play a key role.

Cemetery of Martyrs

The installation at KM21 features, amongst other things, a collection of charcoal prints of the graves of influential cultural figures (artists, writers, poets, filmmakers, historians and journalists) from Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan and the United Kingdom, dating from the mid-nineteenth century to the present day.

Freedom

They fought for independence and freedom in times of political domination and occupation. An accompanying sound piece features a voice that bridges the worlds of the living and the dead. ‘Cemetery of Martyrs’ invites visitors into a collective space of mourning and remembrance, resistance and renewal.
