Keramiekmuseum Princessehof

Oracles from Far & Near

30 November 2024 until 26 October 2025

Exhibition

This activity has ended.

Explore the relationships and diversity between species and beings. The exhibition features (large) ceramic sculptures and installations, drawings, and batiks by artists with a shared interest in different life forms, evolution, and resilience.

Anemoon Fokkinga

Anemoon Fokkinga presents an installation reminiscent of a mangrove, where dozens of creatures swarm. Due to climate change, water levels rise, and animals must adapt to survive, leading the artist to envision new species, such as the lotus leaf crab she has created.

Rachel de Joode

Rachel de Joode creates figures composed of expressive contours of female forms, generated in dialogue with AI based on her previous works. For the first time, an artwork that uses artificial intelligence is on display at the Princessehof.

Heinze van Dijken

Colorful sculptures and works on paper by the late artist Heinze van Dijken are featured, revolving around art, sports, family, and fantasy.

Dan Ernst

Dan Ernst presents a black pot that connects him to his ancestors, along with imaginative batiks where nature takes center stage.

Michel Gouéry

A powerful, life-size 'alien' figure is showcased by the famous French sculptor Michel Gouéry. This is the second work the Princessehof has acquired from this iconic sculptor.

Zeger Reyers

The comedic sculptures of Zeger Reyers reflect our emotional relationship with dogs as pets.

Yoann Estevenin

Yoann Estevenin presents a fantastical world of surreal animals, including a two-headed python and a green, giraffe-like creature with a long neck adorned with jewels.

Hannie Terpstra

Two series from the late Hannie Terpstra are included in this exhibition. The first focuses on parasites, while the second is a playful series of (neuro)diverse portrait heads.

Pauline Wiertz

Among the recent acquisitions from the estate of the innovative artist Pauline Wiertz is a large still life featuring shiny, greenish-blue tinted chicken carcasses and vegetables.
