Historical Museum De Bevelanden focuses on the history of the islands of North and South Beveland. Discover the splendor of the old militia companies and the traditional dress of the Beveland islands from the last 150 years.

Historical Museum De Bevelanden is housed in a former monastery that has also had a long history as an orphanage. The ground floor is dedicated to the history of the militia companies. Discover the splendor of the old militia companies in four life-size paintings.

Temporary exhibitions

The museum attic displays 150 years of traditional dress from the Beveland islands. The temporary exhibitions also cover needlework samplers. There is, naturally, also a focus on the orphanage that used to be in the building. Finally, there are exhibitions on polders and the city of Goes.
