Museum Het Oude Raadhuis displays how the people of Urk lived in the past. In summer, the historic Urk fisherman’s house, with a closet-bed and an attic where nets were kept, is inhabited by volunteers dressed in traditional clothing.

Travel back in time

Discover the rich history of the former island of Urk at Museum Het Oude Raadhuis, as well as how the people of Urk lived. The Urk fisherman’s house has been furnished just as it was at the beginning of the 20th century, including an attic where nets were kept, wall tiles, a well and a closet-bed. During the summer, volunteers dressed in traditional costumes can tell you more about what you see.
