Oasis

Sometimes it seems as if time has stood still here. My square feels like an oasis of peace between the busy Statenplein and the shopping streets. This used to be different. I have seen generations of men, women and children passing by here to live, work, meet, practice or go to school. I heard them here talking about their dreams, fears and ideals. My walls breathe their conversations. During your visit you can also catch fragments of this in various rooms. Just listen to the horns coming out of the tubes.

Meeting place

The Court is a place of remembrance. It has been an important meeting place for the oldest city in Holland for centuries. The building speaks in the museum and tells you its story. Sometimes the building tells on its own behalf and sometimes she lets others speak to whose footsteps she witnessed. She still knows a lot about what has happened over time, about the people she gives a voice to, about their actions and motives. The Court also shows you how to follow the road through the building.
