More than one hundred thousand Dutch Jews, Sinti and Roma are remembered in Westerbork

In the middle of the province of Drenthe lies a place with a grim history: Westerbork transit camp memorial center. The lives of over a hundred thousand Dutch Jews are commemorated here.

The exhibition at Westerbork Memorial tells the story of the site of Camp Westerbork. We focus on personal stories: of people who were deported via camp Westerbork, but also of guards, train drivers, neighbours and people who helped Jews go into hiding or escape.
