Look. Meet. Tell.
Fotomuseum Hilversum is the museum for contemporary photography in the heart of the media city. The museum showcases news photography, documentary visual narratives, and projects that explore current visual culture. In a world where people are flooded with images daily, the museum offers tranquility, context, and space to truly look.
In addition to exhibitions, the museum presents an active accompanying program featuring artist talks, guided tours, and workshops. Alongside carefully curated exhibitions, the museum collaborates with respected partners such as World Press Photo, the Zilveren Camera, and media partner Het Perfecte Plaatje. The programming focuses on both leading photographers and emerging talent, highlighting how images are created, circulate, and acquire meaning.
Fotomuseum Hilversum is housed in the former town hall, right in the shopping district of Hilversum. From the historic entrance with beautiful ceiling paintings, you proceed to the modern extension featuring large, bright halls spread across three floors. The museum also houses two exhibition project spaces, a museum café, and a shop. Under the motto Look, Meet, Tell, the museum invites visitors to experience photography, meet each other, and share stories.
