Angkor
More than a hundred original artefacts from the famous city of Angkor are coming to the Drents Museum. The city is known for its picturesque tourist images and the TV programme Wie is de mol?, but there is more to this architectural spectacle than meets the eye. Eight hundred years ago, Angkor was the largest city in the world, until its heyday came to an end.
World History
The story surrounding this UNESCO World Heritage Site plays an important role in world history and remains a relevant topic of discussion today. The exhibition, which is on display in Europe for the first time, combines centuries-old history with archaeological discoveries, interactive elements and current topics such as heritage conservation and the consequences of a biased narrative.
