The Boijmans Van Beuningen art depot is the first art depot in the world to be open to the general public. The depot is located next to the Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum in Museumpark, Rotterdam. The exhibited material is the result of over 170 years of art collection, having been begun in 1849.
The collection of more than 151,000 works of art are stored in 14 depositories under five different climate conditions. Alongside all the artworks, you will also see the work involved in maintaining and managing this huge collection.
No exhibitions. Visitors can explore 151,000 works of art either independently or with a tour guide. Or watch people working on the conservation or restauration of a work of art.
