Museum De Looierij in Dongen

From cow to leather, in a building that exudes the history of tanning. Follow the tannery route through the museum, which is housed in an old tannery that was built in 1889, and learn all there is to know about the production of leather and the life of tanners.

Beamhouse

The different steps of the tanning process are explained in the beamhouse. Children can participate in workshops in the atelier. Works of art by artists from Dongen are exhibited in the New Beamhouse. All the exhibited work is inspired by leather, tanning or a theme relating to Dongen.
