The city of Aardenburg

Aardenburg is one of the oldest cities in the Zwinstreek region and has existed for nearly 2000 years. The Romans built a fort in what is now Aardenburg. A village then developed around it. In later times, many Roman and medieval objects were found in the soil around Aardenburg.

The museum

A number of these Roman and medieval finds are on display in the museum, which tells the story of the people who lived in Aardenburg in those days. Discover what they ate and drank, where they lived and which gods they worshipped.
