De Van Baaren Stichting bestaat in 2026 70 jaar. Dit jubileum is aanleiding voor een tentoonstelling waarin de Van Baaren Collectie belicht wordt vanuit hedendaags perspectief.

Tuin

In het Utrecht Lokaal zijn de bloemstillevens van de Franse kunstenaar Lydia Radda uit de Van Baaren Collectie te zien naast de hedendaagse werken van de jonge, Utrechtse kunstenaar Sophie Steengracht. Steengracht maakt haar schilderijen met pigmenten die ze onttrekt uit haar eigen tuin. Ze verbeeldt mythische werelden waarin alle leven in harmonie met elkaar samenleeft. In Lydia Radda, over wie tot voorkort niet veel bekend is, herkent ze een geestverwant. Lydia Radda schilderde honderd jaar geleden haar eerste vrije verbeeldingen van bloemen en onderwaterwerelden en viel daarmee op bij kunstliefhebbers als broer en zus Van Baaren.
