Kasteel Wijlre estate brings together contemporary art, architecture, cultural heritage, and nature. Nestled in the rolling hills of South Limburg, the estate's expansive gardens and historic park surrounding the castle and carriage house offer a unique setting for contemplation and discovery. The Hedge House – designed by architect Wiel Arets – combines an exhibition space with an orchid greenhouse and chicken coop, reflecting the symbiosis between art and nature.

Originally a private initiative by art collectors Jo and Marlies Eyck, the estate became an independent public institution in 2015. Each year, it presents an international programme of exhibitions and public events. Monumental, site-specific works by artists such as Giuseppe Penone and Peter Struycken engage in dialogue with the landscape. Recent exhibitions have featured work by Jean-Marc Bustamante, Elspeth Diederix, Tala Madani, Thierry Oussou, Kerry James Marshall, Otobong Nkanga, and Joëlle Tuerlinckx.
