ANNO Stadsuseum
ANNO Stadsmuseum tells the story of Zwolle through the eyes of the people who make up the city. Through exhibitions, activities and stories, it reveals what makes Zwolle special: from the history of the city centre to life in today’s neighbourhoods and the dreams for tomorrow.
Mission
ANNO aims to build a bridge between today’s residents of Zwolle, their predecessors and future residents. Together with residents, the character of Zwolle is made visible and tangible, with a focus on courage, playfulness and depth, so that everyone can recognise themselves in the city’s stories.
What’s on offer
At ANNO, you’ll find museum displays and exhibitions, ranging from archaeological finds to stories of Zwolle’s residents, all housed in the historic Drostenhuis. There’s also a space dedicated to archives and research, where visitors can discover their own history or get hands-on in the ‘Lokaal’. There are also opportunities to meet one another, for example in the ANNO Café or in the museum shop and garden.
Drostenhuis
In the Drostenhuis, you’ll meet both well-known and lesser-known residents of Zwolle. Their personal stories make the city’s history tangible, relatable and human. Zwolle is revealed as the sum of all its residents.
