Permanent exhibition

The permanent exhibition focuses on human beings. Using the latest techniques, we have reconstructed a number of lifelike human figures based on skeletons that were found. These inhabitants of what is now North Holland, both men and women, look proudly at you, the visitor.

Bronze treasure from Westfrisiaweg

In 2021, the museum revamped its permanent exhibition. In a new wing filled with finds from the 17th century, the museum tells the story of the history of the province of North Holland. Among other things, you can see a cannon, two beautiful globes, an impressive ship model, beautiful 17th-century maritime trade finds and two new human figures in this new wing. In addition, the central film in the middle of the permanent exhibition has been renewed and the unique bronze treasure from the Westfrisiaweg is back in the permanent display.
