Children’s Workshop | Fashion on the Titanic: Design a Hat

In the exhibition Titanic & Fashion, your eyes will be wide open — it feels as if you are a passenger on the ship. Can you hear the seagulls too? We’ll explore fashion from the early twentieth century and then look at contemporary designers: what do you think of the shark suit?

Twist

As a skilled fashion designer, you’ll make a few sketches, compare past and present styles, and then create a modern hat design in the museum studio. Do you prefer romantic bows and roses, or will your hat have a playful twist? A variety of materials are available in the studio for your unique creation. Are you joining in?

Practical Information

From 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, children aged 7 and up will design their own hats inspired by the fashion aboard the legendary Titanic. The workshop is exclusively for children and takes place partly in the galleries and partly in the private museum studio. Children of different ages will work independently on their own projects, guided personally by a museum educator, and will use professional materials. The workshop lasts 120 minutes.
