Collection Neutelings

The Neutelings Collection covers the Western European (small) sculpture of the Middle Ages. The collection can be divided into a number of sub-areas: French enamel from the Limousin region, Parisian and Northern French multi-livers, panels from alabaster altarpieces from the Nottingham area, marble and stone sculpture from France, Germany and the Netherlands and wooden altarpieces and –fragments from Flanders and Brabant.

Treasury

Willem Neutelings was strongly aware of the uniqueness of his collection and even dreamed of his own museum. His wife and children also saw this, who wanted to respect his wish to establish his own museum as much as possible. Now, three decades after the death of Willem Neutelings, this wish has been fulfilled in the form of its own treasury Neutelings in the Bonnefanten Museum. This does justice to the museum quality of the works of art and at the same time preserves the domestic intimacy that was so characteristic of the collector's handling of the collection.
