Nature journaling is the practice of drawing or writing in response to nature. This fun, relaxing practice helps you to connect more closely with nature, and results in the creation of your own unique nature journal.
Nature journaling can be used as an inspiring tool to engage with nature, stimulating your curiosity, recognizing wonder and (re)connecting with the world around you. Over time it will help you improve your drawing skills in a playful manner, by experimenting with registration methods and different materials. At the same time, it will increase your knowledge and recognition of different animal and plant species.
The workshop starts with an introduction of the beginning of nature journaling and by giving a few inspiring examples. Together you'll go outside to have an in-field-experience to explore the nature of the city, where you can draw the model of your choice. After having created the sketch, back in the museum you'll add some colors and details. There you'll get an explananation how to further elaborate it with acrylic paintings.
