An archaeological adventure! Many Roman and medieval objects have been found in the soil around Aardenburg. Museum Aardenburg tells the story of the past through these finds.
The city of Aardenburg
Aardenburg is one of the oldest cities in the Zwinstreek region and has existed for nearly 2000 years. The Romans built a fort in what is now Aardenburg. A village then developed around it. In later times, many Roman and medieval objects were found in the soil around Aardenburg.
A number of these Roman and medieval finds are on display in the museum, which tells the story of the people who lived in Aardenburg in those days. Discover what they ate and drank, where they lived and which gods they worshipped.
