Welcome to a world where science and art converge. The ARTIS-Micropia Art & Design Awards brings the invisible world of microbes to life through the eyes of artists from around the globe. This exhibition showcases four extraordinary artworks, selected from 35 submissions, that push the boundaries between art, science, and our society. Each artwork offers a unique perspective on the impact of microbiology on our lives.

About the ARTIS-Micropia Art & Design Awards

The exhibition is the result of an Open Call in 2024, where 35 international artists submitted their work to participate. According to the jury report, the selected artworks "exhibit a beautiful mix from the movement of bio-art." Some pieces use microbes to address deeply personal, social, and geopolitical issues, while others explore the relationship between microbes, nature, and the human body. Microbes are not only the subject of the artworks but also co-creators, helping to shape the artistic narrative.
