The Africa Museum in Berg en Dal is an indoor and outdoor museum full of traditional African artifacts, contemporary art and architecture, but mainly focuses on the people of the continent.

African religions

The museum was founded in 1954 as a missionary museum of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit. The members of this congregation collected African artifacts to learn more about the indigenous religions.

Our common humanity

During the 20th century, the museum expanded to include contemporary African art in addition to religious and traditional artifacts. At the Africa Museum, you’ll discover that we’re all part of the same human race, despite minor differences.
